Like I said before in the other thread, I don't like to do special rating changes, but this is one exception that should be noted. He's currently leading the league in 3 point shots made with 62(average 3 per game) and is making them 45% of times. Right now he is 71 but should be around mid 80s in my opinion.

I'm just talking about 3 point shooting, nothing else, his overall rating probably would stay under 70 still.

oh okay okay sure. thanks. and btw, with Monta Elis going on a scoring rampage the past several games as well as ariza, shouldn't we see some increment for them as well?

Make a thread for them, if you want. I think they both could see some rating increase, but just how much.

He's a mid 70's at least right now, just because he hasn't done what he's doing now for a long enough time, for a higher rating. Kid is just about in the 1stl/1blk/1 3pt club. Pretty much 2-5 people int he entire NBA average that over an entire season, but he's showing the talent to do it. That gives him a lot of skill in a lot of areas. He's really very smart, and as he gets more comfortable, he's going to keep asking for the ball more and being more and more aggressive. Right now he would be a 75 if I rated him, but if he keeps up these stats all season, he'd be close to an 80.

I think you have missed that we have changed the rating system from 2k9 to Live 07, which is quite big difference. To compare, players like Andrew Bogut, Andre Miller and Rudy Fernandez are rated 75, which all of them are much better than Gallinari. And even more, 80 rated players are almost all-star worthy here, players like Rudy Gay, Michael Redd, Monta Ellis, Rip Hamilton, Chris Kaman, Marcus Camby, OJ Mayo, David Lee, Elton Brand, Nene etc. All of them are head above Gallinari.

I think you completely underrate the value of a 1stl, 1 blk, 1 3pt player. And, Gallinari is far more than just that 1 3pt a game too, which you do realize. He is completely on par with Rudy Fernandez, for example. In fact, if I had Gallinari and was offered Rudy for him, I would say no without thinking about it for a second.

Also, Bogut should be higher than a 75, and so should Miller. Other NBA Live sim leagues I am in, Bogut is in the 77-79 range, and Miller is about an 80.

What's so special about 1 block and 1 steal and he's not even averaging neither 1 block nor 1 steal right now. Several other players have done it before and are doing it right now. He has shown some flashes of potential, especially in 3 point shooting, where he could dominate some day, but other than that, he's still not as good as you claim him to be, also the season is only 20 games in, if he will manage to hold on to those numbers, I think 75 could be arranged, but right now about 71-73 sounds right. Also I don't like to put up a lot of emphasize on overall ratings, as so non-factor ratings will see an increase, while they shouldn't. That's why I really like NBA 2k10 rating system.
PS. I agree that Bogut deserves to be higher, he's been all-star worthy this year.

The 1 block, 1 steal, 1 3pt club, all at the same time, is an EXTREMELY elite group. I'm a little baffled that you're not aware of that.
And, i said repeatedly he is "almost" putting up those stats. Right now he's at .9 steals and .8 blocks. Over the last month, he's at 1.0 steals and .9 blocks. And more recently, he has eclipsed 1 steal and 1 block at the same time.
I also agree, he needs to do it for a longer amount of time than he has so far, I said that myself, but he's definitely better than a "less than 70", which you said he was.
I realize this isn't a fantasy league, but Yahoo uses a pretty complicated, completely stats-based formula to rank players. Right now, his efficiency and overall numbers have him in the top 25 in the entire NBA. Part of that is because 3 pointers are more of a rare stat, but the fact that he's shooting 45% from 3, which is incredible, 82% from the line - well above average, about 45% from the field, which is very good, with 14 points, 5 rebounds, 1.5 assists, .9 steals, .8 blocks, and only 1.3 TO's a game, combines to an incredibly good start to his season.
Just asking for the respect he deserves right now.

I understand that it's not that ordinary to average 1 3pt, 1 block, 1 steal, but I don't think it should affect his overall rating that much. Steal rating - probably(don't know what it is right now), block rating - probably, 3pt shooting - like above mentioned should. I guess he has that advantage as he has size of an big man, but plays small forward. Also he has a great range.

I'm fine with being conservative and having him at around 73 right now...but when you said he'd still be under a 70 I just had to say something. He deserves a much higher rating than that, that's all I'm saying.
