Offseason Free Agency
Credit to the D5, some rules are taken from there.
- An offer must stand as the highest bid for 48(later 24) hours before it is accepted. An offer is the high bid if it contains the highest TOTAL dollar amount over the life of the contract.
- Contracts that GMs create in free agency are limited to being between 1 and 4 years in length.
- You may not sign a free agent if the signing takes your team over the cap ($65,000,000). The only exception to this is if it is to the minimum contract ($500,000).
- The minimum you may offer a free agent is $500,000.
- The mimimum increase to an offer for a free agent is $100,000.
- No more than two Free Agents can be signed in 1 week (real-time) by each team.
- If your team has more than 15 players on it's roster. You must first release a player before you can sign another.
- The maximum amount that a contract can increase or decrease each year is by 11% of the previous year in the contract or $500,000. Whichever is higher.
- There will be no Player/Team options during this period
- Every team can keep their draft rights to their rightful player for 2 years without signing them.
- Mid-level exception can be used only during the off-season and for the first month of the season (November).
